Mangatainoka School Pet Day

Held in November,  usually on a Friday

Mangatainoka School has an all inclusive pet day celebration every year.

Our students can enter a calf or a lamb that they have raised. We also have a pre-schooler section for lambs and calves.

Students may also enter any other pet they wish.  Please consider the safety and comfort of all the pets before you choose to bring them to school.

It can be a long and loud day—and we can never guarantee good weather!  All dogs must have a muzzle on.

We also do classic kiwi competitions in the classrooms  such as flower plates, baking, and fruit people,

(these can change from year to year!)

We also run a Men's Cake Decorating Competition (which is hotly contested!) - these are auctioned off on the day for funds for the school.

Our Ladies get involved with a birdhouse competition—these are judged on originality and suitability for the use intended.

We also have a sausage sizzle, morning tea, raffles, Melbourne Cup Sweepstakes, races and lots and lots of fun!

Please mark it on your calendar, as our children love to see their  families and neighbours and enjoy their involvement on this classic rural kiwi kid day!
